The Cleveland Orchestra’s concerts this week feature the two biggest names in classical music: Beethoven and Mozart.
Highlighting the Thursday, Saturday and Sunday concerts is a performance of Beethoven’s 1806 Violin Concerto, featuring German violinist Isabelle Faust. The concerts also include Beethoven’s Overture to Egmont, and Mozart’s 1978 Symphony No 41 (”Jupiter”), his last symphony and a staple of symphony programs.
The latter two will comprise the intermission-less program on Friday evening. Veteran Belgian conductor Philippe Herreweghe leads all four evenings at Severance Hall.
Tickets are $21-$165.
