Temple of Passions presents its slam-style poetry competition in a slightly different — and more challenging — format, called Music 2 Poetry.
Each participant chooses a piece of instrumental music to go with their prepared poem for each of the three rounds — in order to be ready should the three-judge panel deem them worthy to move into the next round, with $300 in cash prizes on the line.
In addition to the competition, the evening, taking place at the BOP STOP, features live music and an open mic for anyone who wants to try something out to see if they’re good enough to compete the next time.
Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 the week of the show.
