Local Jazz Veterans Pete Cavano & Joe Hunter Play as a Duo at the BOP STOP

Wed 1/15 @ 7PM

January is always slow, as far as events go. So it’s a perfect time of year to revisit some of the area’s veteran musicians who are always around, playing in one ensemble or format or another.

Guitarist Pete Cavano and pianist Joe Hunter both have long resumes, stretching back more than 40 years, and if you’re a fan of local music, you’ve surely heard them in something. The versatile musicians have played jazz, pop, blues and rock.

Cavano has performed with such artists as the late bluesman Robert Lockwood Jr and singer/songwriter Anne E. DeChant. Hunter has played with such groups as ’80 rockers Nation of One, Ernie Krivda’s Fat Tuesday Band, The Musical Theater Project’s The Song Is You! and jazz/swing band Red Light Roxy.

The two will perform as a duo at the BOP STOP. Given their backgrounds, you might hear just about anything from favorite old standards to new compositions.

Tickets are $15.
