Cleveland Jazz Orchestra Celebrates MLK Legacy at Maltz Performing Arts Center

Sat 1/18 @ 7:30PM

As part of University Circle’s MLK Day celebration, the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra will perform at the Maltz Performing Arts Center.

In its three-and-a-half decade history, CJO has featured some of the area’s best jazz musicians, both elderly statesmen of the local music scene and up-and-comers playing side by side on a repertoire that features classic big band music, new arrangements of old pieces, and newly composed work.

Currently led by trombone player Paul Ferguson, the ensemble frequently welcomes guest musicians, including guest vocalists, and performs programs with special themes. Don’t be surprised if this program makes reference (in music) to Dr. King and the Civil Rights movement.

The concert is free; reserve your tickets here.
