Cleveland’s Center for Arts-Inspired Learning deploys hands-on arts programming to get kids excited about education in general. After 60 years as Young Audiences, it changed its name in 2013 to suggest a less passive and more hands-on approach to connecting young people and the arts.
The group is hosting an “Arts & Drafts” fundraiser, taking place at Forest City Brewery in Ohio City. There CAL teaching artists Sharie Renee of local embroidery business Cosmic Bobbins with teach attendees basic embroidery skills so that they can walk out with a finished project created while enjoying local beers. Perhaps you’ll even be inspired to join the CAL Collective, its “friends of” arms, which raises money and awareness for the group.
Donation is $40, which includes embroidery materials.
