Neighborhood Pets Outreach & Resource Center in Slavic Village tries hard to make a difference for low-income pet owners, providing basic care and even things like food and leashes that make it possible for these owners to keep their pets. They do so sometimes against steep odds, including numerous break-ins and thefts (no, they don’t keep drugs in there unless you get high on anti-flea medication).
Want to celebrate this laudable effort, a project of the nonprofit Friends of the Cleveland Kennel? Come to their 4th annual holiday party at the Magalen. There’ll be food, drinks, games and a visit from Santa, as well as pet food giveaways for current clients. And if you’re feeling really charitable, you are welcome to bring a donation for their Beds and Bones Holiday Drive; their wish list is here. It’s family-friendly but humans only.
