Peninsula Businesses Invite Visitors to a Candlelit Holiday Walk

Thu 12/5 @ 5-8PM

Enjoy some small-town holiday ambience when the businesses of downtown Peninsula — all two blocks of it — roll out the red carpet for visitors, with decorations, refreshments and special offers. And it’s all small, locally owned businesses — the closest thing you’ll find to a “chain” is a Winking Lizard Tavern, a multi-location pub that was founded in Bedford Heights less than 20 miles from Peninsula — with many of them featuring locally made wares.

The inevitable tree lighting takes place on the Bronson Church Green at 6pm. Even the tree is local, coming from nearby Heritage Farm. Then take a stroll down the luminaria-lit street and drop in the various gallery, boutiques, and restaurants where you’ll find free noshes and sips at nearly every one, including such as cider, wine, cheese and cookies. Wear that gaudy holiday sweater and Yellow Creek Trading Company will give you 20% off one holiday item. At Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s shop Trail Mix Peninsula you can create a holiday decoration from upcycled materials. And the 1947 Christmas movie The Bishop’s Wife will screen at the Peninsula Library @ 6:30pm.
