Kids Can Make Artworks from Toy Parts at Akron Art Museum’s Island of Misfit Toys

Sun 12/15 @ 11:30AM-1PM, 1:30-3PM, 3:30-5PM

The Akron Art Museum popular Island of Misfit Toys event for children and families is back to stir creativity and generate some fun.

Kids get to pick pieces and parts from bins of toys, organized by color or similarity, and construct their sculptures with them. There’ll be lots of art supplies on hand such as markers, felt, glue and various embellishments, with which to decorate the sculpture. And museum staff and volunteers will be there to give pointers to any kid who gets stumped or frustrated working on their piece.

There are three sessions: 11:30am-1pm, 1:30-3pm and 3:30-5pm. Admission is free for all ages but registration is required. Go here. Attendees are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy for the Toys for Tots program.
