Keep Your Eye on the Pie at Kent’s Standing Rock Cultural Arts Annual Pie Festival Fundraiser

Sat 12/7 @ 10AM-6PM

It’s the 22nd year for one of the more interesting arts organization fundraising events in northeast Ohio, the Pie Festival at Kent nonprofit arts/culture organization, Standing Rock Cultural Arts.

Volunteers donate pies of all types: fruit pies, key lime pies, sweet potato pies, vegan pies, as well as other types of baked goods. You can buy a whole pie or a slice. And while you’re there, you can check out a flock of local, handmade arts and crafts including paintings and photos, jewelry, ceramics and more with bids starting as low as $5 on some items. And anyone who joins SRCA is entered in a drawing to win a large-screen digital projector.

It all takes place at Kent’s North Water Street Gallery and all proceeds benefit that array of programs SRCA is involved with such as the New World Children’s Theatre, the Who’s Your Mama? Earth Day and Environmental film festival, the Around the World Music Series, the Short Film Festival, and a stream of poetry readings, art exhibits and public art projects.

Plan to spend the whole day in Kent and take in Downtown Kent’s Annual Festival of Lights up the block as well. It’s all free.
