Juilliard Cellist Astrid Schween Plays Solo Concert and Conducts Master Class in University Circle

Cellist Astrid Schween is Juilliard to the bone. She earned her degrees from there, she teaches there, and since 2016, she has been a member of the Juilliard String Quartet.

In the midst of all that, she’s also a busy solo performer. She’ll be coming to northeast Ohio as the guest of the Cleveland Cello Society to perform at Case Western Reserve University’s Harkness Chapel where she’ll be accompanied by pianist Victor Asuncion to play music by Claude Debussy, Cesar Franck, Robert Schumann and David Popper.

General admission tickets are $30, $5 for students.

The following day Sun 12/15 @ 1-3pm she’ll conduct a masterclass at The Music Settlement with students from Oberlin Conservatory and the Cleveland Institute of Music. Tickets are $10, $5 for students.
