Four Cleveland & Columbus Garage-Punk Bands Rock the Beachland

45 Spider

Sat 1/4 @ 9PM

Cleveland’s Tufted Puffins features some of the area’s veteran punk rockers. Vocalist/guitarist Mike Baker is famous (infamous?) for stints with bands like Hucklebuck and Sleazy Jesus & the Splatter Pigs, as well as being the driving force behind the legendary 1990s Battle of the Worst Bands. Bassist Ken Brown also played with Sleazy Jesus but survived to now run a recording stud and play in theater orchestras. Guitarist Tom Huff has played with Burning Lesbians, Roscoe Disposal Co., Dave Cintron and Scott Pickering — but then, what local underground musician hasn’t played with Scott Pickering? And drummer Markymoon also played with Roscoe Disposal Co., as well as Zen Luv Assasssins, Professional Againsters and many more.

They’ll be playing at the Beachland Tavern with Cleveland garage-rock quartet 45 Spider and a pair of Columbus bands: Betty Machete & the Angry Cougars, and punk band Methmatics, whose sound harks back to the classic 70s punk bands.

Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the door.
