Explore a World of Winter Wonder at Great Lakes Science Center

Thu 12/26-Sat 12/28 @ 10AM-5PM

Sun 12/29 & Mon 12/30 @ noon-5PM

Your bored kid on vacation may think science is also “boooooring,” but they probably won’t think that way anymore if you take them down to the Great Lakes Science Center for one of their five Winter Wonder Days.

As with all the GLSC’s special themed education weekends, this one offers a plethora of demonstrations, experiments, games and participatory activities that make a mess, make pretty colors or go “boom!” Learn about what happens when fire and ice meet, and how extreme temperatures can produce explosive results (go “boom”) and watch it happen. Learn how to code a robo snowball, engineer an igloo at the Penguin Playground or discover what snowflakes really look like on a micro level. And while carpet skating might sound like pure fun, it’s also a chance to explore forces such as gravity and friction.

Everything is included with general admission.
