Northeast Ohio nonprofit Folknet has been supporting acoustic-based music since back in the ’80s. In the last decade, the once-moribund group has enjoyed a revival, bringing in out-of-town folk acts who might otherwise not have an appropriate listening venue, and showcasing this area’s abundance of folk and singer-songwriter talent.
But at its Wassails and Whatnot annual holiday community sing, YOU can be the talent, and join area musicians for an afternoon of lifting your voice on traditional, familiar holiday tunes. As Pete Seeger always said, “Everybody sing!” It takes place at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Beachwood.
