Detroit Shoreway Showcases the Arts & Winter Fun at Wintertide

Sat 12/14 @ 2-6PM

For the fourth year, the Detroit Shoreway Community Development Organization and Cleveland Public Theatre invite people from all over the city to come down to the Gordon Square neighborhood for Wintertide.

The arts-heavy neighborhood will be ablaze with activities and attractions including fire pits where you can roast s’mores or enjoy hot chocolate, a stage with entertaiment and beer garden at West 65th and Detroit, with pop-up performances in the street, storefronts and local businesses. Near West Theatre will have a Kid Zone with hands-on activities and photos of Santa, and the Capitol Theatre will be showing holiday films (the only thing requiring a ticket, and advance purchase is advised as some screenings are already sold out). Plan to browse the neighborhood’s many little boutiques to do some holiday shopping, or take the Trolley over to 78th Street Studios about four blocks away to do more shopping at the huge, sprawling Cleveland Bazaar.

Also consider buying a ticket to one of the area’s theaters to catch a play afterward (and after grabbing dinner at one of Detroit Avenue’s eateries): Cleveland Public Theatre (The Loush Sisters Love Dick’ns: Oops!… They Did It Again & A Xmas Cuento Remix); Near West Theatre(Big Fish), Talespinner Children’s Theatre (Tovic Tomte & the Trolls (A Tale of Sweden), and Blank Canvas Theatre at 78th Street Studios (Yippee Ki-Yay, Merry Christmas: A Die Hard Musical Parody).

Wintertide is free and open at all.
