Pianist/keyboard player/vocalist/songwriter/educator/author Thollem McDonas is from the San Francisco Bay area but he’s road dog, constantly making the rounds of venues in the U.S. and Europe who claims to have played 1,500 concerts since 2005. And he’s not easy to pin down: he’s known as an acoustic free jazz pianist, a singer for an Italian agit-punk band and electronic keyboardist. He’s collaborated with dancers, filmmakers and a list of other musicians to long to enumerate, and released more than 60 albums.
When he comes to Cleveland to perform at the BOP STOP, he’ll show a couple of his multiple sides. He’ll perform a solo acoustic set on piano, then join local improvisers in the money “open mic” improv session Outlab.
Admission is $10, and it’s all ages.
