Two Artists Talk About Their Work — With Mimosas — at Maria Neil Art Project

Sat 11/30 @ 11AM

Artist talks can be staid and pedantic, or they can be lively and fun. We already know that when you get Liz Maugans and Hilary Gent together to do a talk, like the one they’ll host at the Maria Neil Art Project in the Waterloo Darts District where their work is currently on display, it’s going to be a blast!  Add mimosas and who know what will happen?

At the “Artist Talk with Mimosas” (Yes, there really will be mimosas), the two will discuss their show Life Preservers. It features individual work by each — Maugans’ collages which combine pieces of her life and people she knows to comment on her current state of mind and Gent’s paintings of water which seem to flow before your eyes — as well as collaborations in which the two combine their approaches in single pieces.

It’s free and open to all. Make a reservation for brunch at the Beachland Tavern afterwards, where their menu includes many vegetarian and vegan choices.
