The Music Settlement Presents Lithuanian Duo to Kick Off Its Signature Series

Wed 12/4 @ 7PM

The Music Settlement’s Signature Series aims to “convey the personality, character and mission of The Music Settlement — to welcome all to our music and arts community to learn, create, inspire and heal.” So for the 2nd annual Signature Series, it’s presenting four diverse concerts.

The first is this week and it features a duo from Lithuania — violinist Viktorija Čepinskienė and pianist Giedrė Špečkauskaitė — performing Antonio Vivaldi’s beloved piece, The Four Seasons. It draws attention to TMS’s longtime relationship with Cleveland’s immigrant community, which, when it was founded 108 years ago, was enormous.

“Our founder, Almeda Adams, recognized that music could be the great connector of children, many of whom did not speak English but had arrived from their homeland with an instrument in tow,” they note. “Music was their common language.”

Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children. The series continues with the Winter Solstice Concert on Sat 12/21, and two concerts in the spring.
