Printmaker & Photographer Explore Patterns & Symbols in Show at Cleveland Print Room

Fri 11/8 @ 5-9PM

Thu 11/14 @ 6:30PM

The Cleveland Print Room’s next show, Lines & Shadows, features work by two Cleveland-based artists, a photographer and a printmaker, both exploring the use of patterns and symbols in their work.

Steven Mastroianni is known primarily as a portrait photographer, who has shot many local artists and musicians and operated studios in Tremont and Slavic Village. He’s also a musician himself. Rebekah Wilhelm is known for her sculptural installation paper works, which have been shown at the Morgan Conservatory and Zygote Press. She has special expertise in green printmaking. In this show, both artists deploy such repetitive markings as lines, scratches and words on their work to evoke maps and narratives.

The show opens with a reception Fri 11/8 @ 5-9pm. The artists will host a talk at the gallery Thu 11/14 @ 6:30pm. Both are free and open to the public.
