The Holtkamp Organ at West Shore Unitarian Universalist Church will be center stage, figuratively speaking, at the next concert in the Rocky River Chamber Music Society’s series, which takes place at West Shore UU.
Timothy Olsen will take his seat at the organ, while Judith Saxton joins him on trumpet for an evening of trumpet and organ music. The pair, colleagues at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, have been collaborating for more than a decade rearranging repertoire for their instruments and commissioning new works as well.
For their Rocky River performance, they’ll mostly stick to the classics, playing music by Georg Philipp Telemann, Johann Ludwig Krebs, Johann Sebastian Bach, Giovanni Buonaventura Viviani, George Frideric Handel, Václav Nelhybel, Calvin Hampton and Dmitri Shostakovich, as well as a composition by Saxton.
All RRCMS concerts ate free and open to the public.
