Les Delices Plays Free Program of Medieval Music in Akron

Sun 11/17 @ 5PM

This week, Cleveland’s Les Delices ensemble, which specializes in playing music on period instruments, is heading south to perform in Houston, Texas, and Clinton, Mississsippi.

But it’s not forgetting its northeast Ohio home base. When it gets back to town, it will perform this evening of “strange and wonderful Medieval music” at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Akron — for free.

Five musicians will perfom this program, called “Intoxicating,” which they say inspired them with “heady perfumes and strong elixirs”: soprano Elena Mullins and tenor Jason McStoots, Les Delices founder Debra Nagy on medieval winds and voice, Scott Metcalfe on vielle and harp, and Grant Herreid on plectrum lute and voice.
