Environmental Journalist Talks About Sea Level Rise at Hudson Library

Mon 11/11 @ 7PM

With climate change and environmental activism on so many people’s minds, journalist Jeff Goodell’s 2017 book The Water Will Come: Rising Seas, Sinking Cities, and the Remaking of the Civilized World, is as timely as ever — if not more so.

We’ve heard plenty of scary stories about melting ice caps and rising sea levels, and some communities, such as Miami Beach, Florida, and some island nations are already facing the impacts. According to Goodell’s reporting, which includes reports from 12 countries, by the end of the 21st century hundreds of millions of people around could be forced to move from coastal areas and many of the communities were know now will be underwater.

Goodell will speak at the Hudson Library, where coies of his book will be available for sale and signing, courtesy of Learned Owl Book Shop.  The program is free. Register here.
