Cellocentric is an project started several years ago by local acoustic finger-style guitar player Doug Wood. Players have come and gone over that time, but the concept has remained the same: three acoustic musicians, one of them a cellist, playing a mix of original music that blends folk, jazz, pop, New Age and classical sounds with distinctive takes on pop classics by the Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel and others.
The current lineup features Wood, along with cellist Carolina Borja and Arleigh Savage on bassoon. They’ll perform a free concert at the Hudson Library & Historical Society. It’s open to the public and no registration is necessary.
