Celebrated Mexican Classical Guitarist Pablo Garibay Makes His NE Ohio Debut

Sat 11/9 @ 7:30PM

Mexican classical guitarist Pablo Garibay, now 41, is rapidly making a mark in his chosen field. He’s been a finalist in 19 international competitions and won first prize in 10 of them. He’s performed solo and with orchestras in Europe, Africa, Mexico and the U.S. with programs that feature noted guitar concertos and his own take on Latin-American music.

Although he has toured extensively, he has never performed in Cleveland, but the Cleveland Classical Guitar Society is remedying that this week. He’ll perform as part of their International Series at Plymouth Church UCC in Shaker Heights. There he’ll play music by Eduardo Angulo, Leo Brouwer, Simone Iannarelli, Antonio José and Manuel Ponce, all of it composed in the 20th century.

Tickets are $10-$40.
