Burning River Roller Derby Holds Charity Bout in North Olmsted

Sat 11/23 @ 7PM

The ladies of Cleveland’s flat-track roller derby league, the Burning River Roller Derby (BRRD), are really into giving back to the community. So their final bout of 2019, taking place at the Soccer Sportsplex in North Olmsted, is their annual charity event. The beneficiary this year of a portion of the proceeds is Cleveland’s Colors+ Youth Center, a community center that provides education, advocacy, and support services to LGBT+ young people and those who support them.

BRRD skaters are divided into two teams, Team Black and Team Blue, in a friendly competition. Each team will also have a guest captain alongside the regular captains, a local fan who won a bidding war. For even more entertainment, the half–time show will feature full-contact musical chairs, where the newest skaters fight for the crown.

Representatives of Colors + Youth Center will be on hand to provide more information about what they do and gratefully accept additional donations.

Tickets are $18, $12 for seniors, $8 for kids 5-12.
