Artist’s Daughter Karen Eterovich Shares Ideas for Organizing Art & Other Collections

Sat 11/23 @ 1-3PM

Getting organized is the bane of most of us. We feel overwhelmed by our stuff and don’t know what to do with it all or how to create a system that makes the things we cherish accessible to enjoy.

Karen Eterovich, daughter of artist Anthony Eterovich, whose work is currently on display at the Artists Archives of the Western Reserve in Fulfilling the Eye, will be at AAWR with a presentation called “Everything in its Place: Personal Archiving.”

She’ll talk about how you as an artist, family of an artist or collector deal with all that art you have stashed in a room somewhere in piles, as well as how to organize things like photos, journals, newspapers clippings, programs and other memorabilia. She’ll discuss topics such as preservation, cataloging, storage and collection management systems, among other things, how to create a documented history of an artwork, and how to build relationships with gallerists, curators, institutions and buyer if you re overseeing a collection of original art — all things she learned after her father died in 2011 at age 95, leaving behind his large body of work.

Eterovich will give a 45-minute presentation, followed by a Q&A session, and a meet-and-greet reception with refreshments. The program is free, but registration is requested. Go here.
