All Ages Come (Contra) Dancing at Chagrin Falls Township Hall

Tue 11/19 @ 7:30PM

If you haven’t tried contra dancing yet, maybe it’s time to do so. Luckily, Northeast Ohio Contra Dance holds dances several times a month at different locations around northeast Ohio. One of those is Chagrin Falls Township Hall, where dancing happens the third Tuesday of every month.

Contra dancing is a great family activity and a great place to make new friends.

Like swing dance and square dance (to which it’s a close cousin), contra dance is essentially a community social gathering. Come with a partner, come alone, come with a group — everyone dances with everyone else before the evening is over.

It’s all ages and requires no experience of special skills. All dances start with a half-hour lesson to build confidence, with regulars helping newcomers. And once you get out on the dance floor, as in square dancing the caller — Kenny Wilson — tells you what to do next. Dancing to live music by Stomp Culture happens from 8-10 so you’re not out too late on a Tuesday evening!

Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for youth, $25 for a family.
