Part of the charm of Lakewood’s Lake Erie Building aka the Screw Factory, inhabited by dozens of artist studios, is that it’s still an industrial building on the ground floor, a reminder of Cleveland’s past.
On its second and third floors, though, you’ll find those artist studios and galleries, yoga and dance studios, vintage shops and creative small businesses, and spaces available for weddings and other special events.
Several times a year, the Screw Factory Artists host an open house where many of the studio and business doors are open for visitors, and those event spaces are filled with outside vendors of handmade items, artwork, specialty foods and other locally created offerings.
For its two-day fall open house, more than two dozen of the resident artist/makers will be open, about a dozen of them hosting guest artists. There’ll be more than two dozen additional visiting vendors offering everything from photographs to tea to lamps made from recycled objects.
It’s free and there’s free parking.
