Mystery writer Less Roberts isn’t a native Clevelander. But you’d never know that from reading his Milan Jacovich novels, books such as Deep Shaker, Pepper Pike, Collision Bend or Whiskey Island — 19 in all, rendering familiar Cleveland landmarks and even some thinly public figures, vividly and knowingly. Originally from Chicago, the 82-year-old worked for nearly 25 years as a Hollywood writer/producer before resettling here.
He’ll be at the Music Box Supper Club as part of its Cleveland Stories series, explaining how and why he fell in love with Cleveland, and how he was able to dive so deeply into the city’s culture and social history.
The program is free and open to all, with a full bar and menu available. A reservation is advisable if you want to eat.
