MANSFIELD: What, No Tweet?

Donald tRump, facing something other than a crowd of handpicked and screened supporters, was greeted with loud and sustained boos from the crowd at Game 5 of the World Series between the Nationals and Astros on Sunday in Washington. His beaming smile quickly disappeared and by the third inning the crowd was shouting “Lock him up!”

No one can say that fans at a World Series game aren’t representative of America, and indeed, probably tack a bit to the conservative right. These should be his people, but clearly, they were not. Many conservative talking heads on Fox News decried the greeting tRump received from what has to be a real cross-section of true Americans.

They bemoaned what they felt was the lack of respect the fans showed, which is laughable since they’re talking about the most disrespectful politician to appear on the American stage in all of our history. How can these sycophants, apologists and bootlickers even begin to cry foul when the shoe is on the other foot?

The hope among progressives and other right-thinking Americans is that the sentiments expressed by the fans at the stadium were a reflective microcosm of the mood of the voting public at large. If the demonstration did nothing else it shut tRump up for once since he failed to tweet about the incident. Good.
