Akron’s Countryside Public Market Celebrates Its First Anniversary

 Sun 10/20 @ 10AM-2PM

Last year, the Countryside Markets, which host summer markets in Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s Howe Meadow and in Highland Square, and bi-weekly markets in the winter at the old Trail Schoolhouse in Bath, tried something new.

They launched a weekly public market at the Northside Marketplace, a new mixed-use development just outside downtown Akron which also has an incubator marketplace with shops and food on the floor above it.

The Countryside Market will be having a one-year anniversary celebration at the market this week. They’ll have the usual vendors with their produce, cheese, chocolate, baked goods, dairy, honey, coffee and more specialty products made locally. But they’ll also have a chili cook-off, a squash tasting, food demos, live music and kids’ activities.

It’s free and open to all.
