With craft breweries popping up on every corner these days, brew fests are old hat. So the Akron Civic Theatre is adding another element to its Pints & Pies Craft Beer and Pizza Festival, a spin-off of the Akron Craft Beer Festival.
The festival will offer tastings of 100 beers at stations throughout the theater that will be helpful grouped by beer type: fruit beers and ambers; lagers and pilsners; wheats, wits and Hefeweizens; IPAs (including New England-style and brut); ciders and meads; sours; Belgian Ales; and Browns, Porters and Stouts. Each style will be paired by local, artisan-style pies, chosen to complement the taste of those particular brews.
Tickets, which include a commemorative glass, are $40. Designated driver tickets are $30, available only at the door. It’s a 21-and-over event obviously.
