Superstars & Icons

They are all around us.We’ve developed a knack for tuning in on their wavelength. And listening closely. You can do it, too.

Andy Warhol’s Superstars feature in our new show, When Andy Met Lou at BOP STOP in Ohio City on Fri 9/13 and Sat 9/14, then debuting at Jilly’s Music Room in Akron for a Velvet Brunch at noon on Sun 9/22. This epic collaboration between the two icons, plus dozens of adult film performers, drag queens, socialites, drug users, musicians, and free-thinkers is the subject of our own multi-media presentation, complete with live music by Vanity Crash. Don’t miss it.

Warrensville High School grad and actress Yvette Nicole Brown is featured at the Urban FilmFest this week. The Heights Music Hop now offers three full nights of music, one in each of Cleveland Heights’ main commercial districts. Or check out the Slovenian Sausage Festival in Kirtland, the Superior Arts District’s Avenue of the Arts event, the Holden Arboretum’s Nature’s Brew Beer Tasting, a public forum in the impact of gun proliferation at Unitarian Universalist Congregation, or a show on local superstars called Made in Cleveland, hosted at Tri-C by Artist Archives of the Western Reserve. Maybe we’ll meet you there. –Thomas Mulready
