This week, the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage opens a new exhibit called Leonard Bernstein: The Power of Music. It’s a touring exhibition put together by Philadelphia’s National Museum of American Jewish History (NMAJH) to honor the centennial of his birth last year. It explores his impact on both classical and popular music, and his work as an educator and activist in artifacts, photos, video and immersive sound installations. It will be on view through March 1, 2020.
On opening night, the Maltz Museum will host a discussion with staff from NMAJH to talk about how the exhibit came about and how it was put together in order to tell the story of this major 20th century artist and personality.
The program is $5 for non-members, free for members of the Maltz Museum. Register here.
