Lakewood’s Around the Corner Celebrates Its 45th Anniversary

Thu 9/12-Sat 9/14

Lakewood’s around the Corner, situated at the far west end of Lakewood where Detroit Avenue turns — yes, “around the corner” — to head into Rocky River, has been a popular gathering spot in the community for 45 years, as countless other bars have come and gone.

It was opened by Lakewood native Mickey Krivosh back in 1974 and has weathered numerous changes in music styles, tastes in drinks, favored bar entertainment and clientele. It’s been the site of parties, benefits and special events of all types. It’s family operation: his son Ryan is now an active part of the business. They also own VOSH across the street.

This week, the Krivoshes will celebrate their anniversary with specials, live music and giveaways.

On Thu 9/12 starting @ 3pm, they’ll be giving free T-shirts to anyone who purchases food and drink. A Dj will provide music from 4-9pm, followed by Tricky Dick @ 9.

Friday will feature 45 cent mini burgers and wings (Krivosh was one of the first to bring buffalo wings to Cleveland) And on Saturday there’ll be a drawing @ 9pm for a trip for two to Mexico.
