Cars That Cost More Than Your House on Display @ Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens

Sun 9/8 @ 10AM-4PM

Do you dream about exotic cars and imagine yourself behind the wheel of a Ferrari or a Bugatti, cars whose price tags can run into the millions — sitting in stopped traffic on the Innerbelt at 5pm?

OK, that probably isn’t part of your dream, even if it’s a more likely occurrence for most Clevelanders than owning a Ferrari. But dreaming is fun, and you can fuel those high-performance vehicle dreams at the Molto Bella Auto Show at Stan Hywet Hall & Hardens in Akron.

There will be more than 400 such cars displayed in the Great Meadow, along with food, music, live music and tours of the historic Manor House for members of the family bored with any cars at all. The show will also feature a collection of “hot rods” owned by Kent’s Elton “Sonny” Hunt, aka “The Rodfather,” who passed away in January. As his obituary, written by his son, said, “Just like Elijah was transported to heaven in a chariot of fire in the bible, I believe dad must have taken the wheel of a ’32 Ford powered by a flathead motor. If there aren’t hotrods in heaven, there will be now.” See the ones he left behind!

Admission is $14 for adults; $6 for youth 6-17, free for kids 5 & under. Money raised benefits both Stan Hywet Hall and the Kidney Foundation of Summit County. Parking is offsite at Firestone CLC and Todaro’s Party Center, with a free shuttle provided. Rain date is September 15.
