Blank Canvas Theatre does its annual benefit a little differently than most local arts groups. It likes to strut its stuff by presenting a special concert-style theatrical production, which runs for two nights only and is preceded by an hour-long reception that features food, live music and raffle baskets.
This year, that production features some of the most iconic music of all time: The Who’s Tommy, based on the band’s 1969 concept album, which was later turned into a movie and a stage musical. Pretty much everyone is familiar with the (actually slightly confusing) story of the “deaf dumb and blind kid” who “sure plays a mean pinball.”
Tickets are $35; if the performances are sold out, there will be a handful of tickets available at the door.
