Author/Professor Bettina Love Hosts Workshop on Anti-Racism @ CSU

Thu 9/5 @ 5:30-8:30PM

“What does it mean to be an abolitionist & anti-racist in today’s educational climate?”

That’s the provocative question posed by author and associate professor of Educational Theory & Practice at the University of Georgia Dr. Bettina Love, who speaks at Cleveland State University Student Center’s Grand Ballroom.

This workshop-style inquiry-to-action event focuses on activating liberation practices. They promise that, “Participants will learn about what it means to be an abolitionist and anti-racist in educational settings.”

Dr. Love will open with a presentation, before attendees break up into small groups for facilitated discussions in developing an action plan for their school or classroom. Groups will then share their plans with dr. Love who will offer feedback. Her book We Want To Do More Than Survive: Abolitionist Teaching and the Pursuit of Educational Freedom will be available for sale at the event.

The event is free but registration is required. Go to tinyurl.com/Dr-Bettina-Love-registration
