Sat 8/17 @ 9PM
Singer Mary Bridget Davies made a name for herself locally performing in blues, rock and bluesy rock bands before performing as Janis Joplin in the stage production of Love, Janis. That propelled her career into overdrive, as she reprised the role in New York, where she eventually moved, and on the road. (She also performed with Joplin’s former group, Big Brother & the Holding Company).
In late 2017, she had a baby so she’s taken things down a notch for now. But fans can enjoy a rare opportunity to hear her these days when she performs with the Mary Bridget Davies Blues Siren Band at the Beachland Ballroom at a benefit for Latino grassroots advocacy organization HOLA Ohio and music education group, the Music Alliance. Her set will include music from all aspects of her career, including her original material.
Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door.
