Maelstrom Collaborative Arts’ Bricolage series is back, once again offering original collaborations between artists in different disciplines, who create new mixed-media performances that might incorporate dance, theater, visual artists, music and more. The hoped-for result is not only a new type of performance but that the creators develop their own abilities in unexpected directions, as artists meet and work with each other for the first time.
The particular focus of the upcoming events is to marry visual and performing artists. Conceptual artist and activist Amanda D. King, founder of Shooting Without Bullets, is working with multi-disciplinary artist James Waite; nonfiction writer/storyteller/poet Eris Eady has partnered with movement/theater/visual arts creator Mixxed Rose. Musician/theater artist Mohammad Gholam Abolfazl is paired with video/installation/performance artist Kayli Salzano. And printmaker/installation artist Rebekah Wilhelm will be producing work with dancer Akane Little.
Tickets are $10 on Thursday, $15 on Friday and Saturday.
