Learn About Butterflies’ Life Cycle @ Geauga Park District’s Caterpillar Extravaganza

Sun 8/18 @ noon-4PM

Caterpillars are fascinating little critters, part of the life cycle of the beautiful butterfly. Learn all about them at Geauga Park District’s annual Caterpillar Extravaganza at its West Woods Nature Center.

There you’ll open-air displays of northeast Ohio caterpillars of the giant silk moth on their host plants, some of which you can touch and photograph. There’ll be plenty of other stuff to engage the kids at this all-ages event: face painting (required by law apparently, at kid-friendly events) with caterpillar and butterfly designs, crafts, games and peeks through microscopes. And you can bring that caterpillar you found nestled on a plant in your garden to be identified or added the display.

The program is free and no registration is required.  440-286-9516 if you have questions.
