Kombilesa Ase Closes Tremont’s Arts in August With Their African Diaspora Sounds

Tremont’s Arts in August winds to its finale with Cleveland trio Kombilesa Ase. With Linda Thomas on percussion and vocals, Carlina Borja on cello and vocals, and Obediya Wonderful Jones-Harrel on cuatro, percussion, bass and electronics, the group mixes and mingles its African, Canadian and Colombian roots, writing original music fueled by the sounds of the African diaspora. Jazz, reggae and hip hop are all featured in music which blends acoustic and synthetic sounds to create its own distinctive style.

The free performance takes place in Lincoln Park. People are invited to bring blankets, chairs and snacks and enjoy the evening under the stars.
