Enjoy the Last Days of Summer at Shaker Lakes’ Take to the Lake

Sat 8/24 @ 10AM-5PM

As fall rapidly approaches, wallow in one of the few remaining summer weekends at the 8th annual Take to the Lake, hosted by Doan Brook Watershed Partnership. The area around Lower Shaker Lake will be bursting with activities, including a hike, an outdoor yoga class, live music by Spyder Stompers and Sugar Pie, and the rare opportunity to paddle on the lake where public boating is no longer regularly permitted.

You can bring your own canoe, kayak or paddleboard or you can rent a kayak for $15 per person per hour. And for those who’ve never used a kayak or canoe, Cleveland Metroparks Youth Outdoors will be offering lessons to those 7 and older to teach the basics. Classes are $10 for adults, and $5 for youth 15 and under. Anyone going out on the lake must have a life jacket, and children must be accompanied by an adult.
