Sat 8/24 @ 10AM-7PM

Akron Pride is one of the newer big-city pride celebrations in Ohio but since it launched in 2017, it’s grown explosively. Obviously Akron was hungry for this event.

Year three kicks off with the Akron Pride Festival Equality March, stepping off at 10Am from the Summit County Library in Highland Square. It was proceed a mile and a half to Hardesty Park, where the day-long festival takes place.

This year’s festival honors the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, which many mark as the start of the modern LGBT movement. The family-friendly festival features food trucks, vendors, a kids area and several stages of local and national entertainment, including Canadian singer/actress Deborah Cox, who launched her career as a backup singer for Celine Dion, and indie singer/songwriter Steve Grand.
