Northeast Ohio 13-piece band the 21st Century Jazz Orchestra is dedicated to adding contemporary sounds to the classic big-band style of jazz. With three woodwind players, a four-piece brass section, a five-piece rhythm section and the vocals of Lisa DeMarco, the group performs music from classic jazz artists like John Coltrane, Maynard Ferguson, Dizzy Gillespie and Herbie Hencock, modern pop classics by the Police and Prince, music by today’s eclectic crossover band Snarky Puppy, and new oiginal pieces by writers such as Bob Florence, Roger Neumann, Paul Ferguson, Mike Tomaro, Michael Mossman, and Chris DeMarco.
They’ll be performing at the BOP STOP. Tickets are $15.
