Lit Cleveland’s Inkubator Is Back With Multiple Events & Conference at Downtown Library

Wed 7/24-Sat 7/27

For the fifth year, the nonprofit readers and writers group Literary Cleveland, is hosting its Cleveland Inkubator, which culminates with its all-day conference Sat 7/27 at the Cleveland Public Library. So while the big street party is raging outside to celebrate the Library’s 150th anniversary, those who prefer the quiet contemplation of literature can be inside listening to speakers and panel discussions, visiting a book fair and attending workshops.

Leading up to that, there will be a writing group matchmaking at CLE Urban Winery in Cleveland Heights on Wed 7/24 @ 6:30pm, a book swap and Inkubator instructor reads at McNulty’s Bier Markt Thu 7/25 @ 6:30pm, and an open mic reading session at the Happy Dog Fri 7/26 @ 6:30pm

Then get revved up for the main event, which takes place from 8am-4:30pm (that still leaves you time to go outside and ride that five-story Ferris wheel they’re going to install out on the street!) There are 15 workshops, many of which are already filled, but there’s plenty going on to participate in. It closes with a keynote reading by Hanif Abdurraquib, followed by a conversation with Cleveland’s Daniel Gray-Kontar, an audience Q&A and a book signing.

It’s all free; go here for a complete schedule of events.
