Kent’s Black Squirrel Winds Perform for Free @ Cain Park

Tue 7/30 @ 7PM

The quintet of musicians who call themselves the Black Squirrel Winds are all faculty members at the Kent State University Hugh A. Glausner School of Music, hence their name: black squirrels are something of a mascot to the city of Kent.

Oboist Danna Sundet, flutist Diane McCloskey Rechner, clarinetist Amitai Vardi, bassoonist Mark DiMio and horn player Kent Larmee comprise the more than a decade old ensemble. They take time out from their teaching schedules to share their chamber music with audiences at venues around the area. One of those is Cain Park, where they’ll liven up a sleepy Tuesday evening with a performance at the intimate Alma Theatre. It’s free and no ticket or reservation is necessary.
