The Fairport Harbor Mardi Gras is a long-established July 4th tradition that offers the chance to really stretch the holiday out, taking place over five days at Fairport Harbor’s Lakefront Park. You’ll get everything you love about summer fairs and festivals — food, drink, games, rides, a parade and of course, fireworks. The parade gets everyone in a holiday mood at 7pm Wed 7/3. On Thu 7/4 there’ll be a “Jeep Invasion.”
Fri 7/5 is Senior Day with bingo, chair massages, blood pressure tests and snacks; the kids can go hang with Jungle Terry at 5pm. Sat 7/6 is ALL about the kids with balloon animals, Kids Idol, a watermelon-eating contest, and the inevitable face painting.
Sunday there’ll be special events and prizes for veterans and their families and, at dusk, the fireworks. It’s all free and family-friendly.
