Hale Farm & Village in Bath is a nice place to go to leave the city and all the modern technological bustle behind, to explore what life was like for the early settlers in northeast Ohio.

But during the Music in the Valley Folk and Wine Festival you can get the best of both worlds, checking out the regular exhibits of historic structures and demos of vintage crafts such as blacksmithing, weaving and pottery-making AND enjoying contemporary acoustic folk music and the products of today’s local wineries.

Twelve Ohio wineries will be offering samples and bottles for purchase; there’ll also be food trucks and other food vendors, a convenience not available in the 19th century. The Wine Buzz magazine will also be hosting a wine and cheese pairing and sensory tasting classes.

Music under the tent includes Ben Gage (11am-12:30pm), Thor Platter (1-2:30pm) and Randy Horvath (3-5pm) on Saturday and Charlie Mosbrook (11am-12:30pm), David Mayfield (1-2:30pm) and Brent Kirby (3-5pm) on Sunday. There’ll also be casual jam-style acoustic performances taking place around the grounds during both days

Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for ages 3-12. Wine tastings are $10 which gets you a logo glass and six tastes.
