Earthquaker Devices Day Celebrates Local Music

Fri 8/2 @ 8PM

Sat 8/3 @ 11AM

Akron’s Earthquaker Devices has been making their guitar sound processing pedals since 2007. The boutique business sells their pedals around the world to artists of all types intrigued by the variety of sounds they generate.

Each year, they celebrate their business, their hometown and music in general with the Earthquaker Day — which this year extends over two days. It kicks off Friday evening when Earthquaker takes over neighboring clubs Musica and Blu Jazz +, with the Beyonderers, Pleasure Leftists and Mourning [A] BLKstar peroforming at Musica and the Lisa Bella Donna Quartet playing at Blu Jazz +

On Saturday morning at 11am, things start with a pedal clinic from Earthquaker founder/owner Jamie Stillman, followed by additional clinics, and sets by Hall & Oates tribute I Can’t Go for That, Tom Breaker and the Pettyhearts, Coup de Grace, Night In, and Green Tree Novelty Tea, before the 5pm PRS Guitars Riff Contest Finals. That all takes place at Earthquaker HQ near downtown Akron.

The party continues in the evening with NIIGHTS, Caveman and the Party of Helicopters playing at Musica starting @ 9pm.

All the events are free.
