County Fair Season Is in Full Swing in Northeast Ohio

Tue 7/23-Sun 7/28

It’s that time again when county fairs are in full swing across the state. Two northeast Ohio fairs take place this week: the Summit County Fair in Tallmadge and the Lake County Fair in Painesville.

As with all fairs, they are a heady mix of food you shouldn’t eat regularly, rides to make you throw up that food, barns full of large vegetables, animals and handcrafts, 4H exhibits, live music, weird contests, and of course, motor sports events: drag races, tractor pulls and the demolition derbies which are so popular you should probably snag a ticket in advance.

At the Summit County Fair, special attractions include pig racing & petting zoo, an aquatic acrobatic show and the Nerger Tiger Show. Jungle Terry, the Cincinnati Circus Aerial Act & Juggling, and giant bubble blower Dr. U.R. Awesome will perform multiple times at the Lake County Fair.

Both fairs run through Sun 7/28.
